Used all of October on trip to South America. The pack served me well on this trip. Was an excellent carry on, and fit easily into overhead airline storage. It also handled weight well and comfortably. The size of this pack is it's forte, and it's downside. The lower compartment would not comfortably store my Canon EOS with a 28 by 135 lens attached. In the bottom compartment I stored the camera body two standard sized lens', battery chargers/w cords, and my binoculars. My long lens had to be stored in the unpadded top compartment along with a few personal items. Compact is good but also limiting. Customer Review: Best combination of day pack features

I have had this pack for several months and have used it on many occasions.
I have really grown to like the chest and waist straps. My regular photo pack has them and I never got around to using them until I got the 5547. The upper compartment is way to small for a jacket so I carry some string to tie a jacket to the pack after I drape it over the top. The top compartment is very handy for camera accessories and some food items like sandwiches, fruit bars, cookies, etc. The bottom compartment works fine for transporting a camera and lenses. In my case the compartment has room for a Nikon D300 with 18-105mm lens attached (facing down), a 10-17mm fisheye lens, and a 60mm macro. Once I get to the venue I hang the camera around my neck and move the spare lenses to the upper compartment. Some items in the upper get relocated to the lower. The reason I do this is to make the camera lenses more accessible. Getting at items in the lower section involves taking the pack off your back. My wife can easily retrieve something out of the upper compartment for me without undoing the straps and removing the pack. Overall this has been a really good "day pack" for those times when we are out for the afternoon and are not taking our full complement of photo gear.
Finally, I have looked at other packs where the bottom compartment is accessible via the side or front. Some are "sling packs", are to small, to big, and do not have chest and waist belts. None of these packs are perfect but the 5547 had the best combination of features for my intended use.

Backpack was received on time and in good condition. I wanted a pack to carry on an upcoming trip where I'll be going on tours during the day. It provides a cushioned place for my camera and long lens as well as other lenses and photo equipment. It's also got an area for packing other items to carry during the day. My new camera arrived in the mail and I was looking to replace my old square camera bag with a new one. I knew that I wanted a red back pack. I had recently looked at a Tamrac bag when shopping in my local Best Buy store. They did not have the correct size I wanted, so I started shopping online. After checking several websites, I found Amazon.com had the best price. The description listed for the Adventure 7 Photo said a Canon EOS D1 camera would fit along with a telephoto lens, and other accessories. Since that was the model number of the camera I had just bought I was sold! I was very happy with the style, design, and durability of the Tamrac Adventure 7, but I have alot of accessories. If I could do it over again, I would buy a bigger bag that would allow me to keep my Canon 70-200 zoom lens on the body, which would also allow me to be ready for any unexpected photo opportunities which come up quickly. The bag is very heavy when fully loaded. I would have given it 5 out of 5 stars if it would have been bigger in size. The Tamrac Adventure 9 was the next size up, but it holds a laptop which I do not own, and so I had no use for this model bag. Unless you need a bigger bag like me, then buy the Tamrac Adventure 7 as it is a really nice bag for the money. You won't be disappointed!Customer Review: Watch out for your laptop!

I was looking for a bag pack where I could stack my Canon 40D and a couple of lenses and that had a compartment for my Dell Latitude laptop. This backpack seemed to have it all and it does. The space for my photo gear is big enough and has dividers. Above the photo compartment, there is another compartment which I use for my travel papers (tickets, passports, pen), cables, and medicines, shades, book, etc. Behind the two front compartments there's another space to store my laptop. And that's where I do have a big issue. I don't know if it's only me, but in four occasions my laptop dropped out of the slot where you slide the laptop in the compartment. The slot is on the side of the back pack and a zipper closes it. But if you forget to close the zipper (and yes I hear you say: duhhhh), and you pick up your back pack, the laptop falls out on the floor. Since the back pack is dark (black on the side) you can hardly see if the zipper is up or down and the moment you get distracted for a sec and you forget to close the zipper, you have a big problem. Thank God I've got the Dell Complete care since the tech guys have been out here fixing my laptop four times in a row. But if you don't need the laptop compartment, go ahead, it's a great back pack.
